Kai's Journey

Kai's Journey - Lost in the Middle

For Kai and his friends, grief and loss are lifelong journeys. The same goes for real children and their families - it doesn’t just end when the book ends. That’s why we’ve expanded the series with our newest book, Lost in the Middle, a graphic novel for middle schoolers.

Our Grief-Sensitive Schools Initiative

When it comes to grief support at school, many educators feel underprepared to help. In fact, according to a recent survey by the New York Life Foundation and American Federation of Teachers, ninety-two percent of educators think that there should be a greater focus on training educators to support grieving students, and ninety-one percent say that they personally would be interested in participating in bereavement training offered through their school or district.

A company that puts love into action

The essence of our business is serving others. In 1998, New York Life created our corporate volunteer program, Volunteers for Good (VfG). It develops and promotes volunteer opportunities for our workforce, allowing them to serve the communities where they work and live. Giving time and expertise, we collaborate with hundreds of charitable organizations and help coordinate volunteer projects every year to address community needs across the country.
